Wayne “WR” Franklin is an author, screenwriter, editor, filmmaker, videographer and occasional blogger living in Columbus, Ohio. Wayne received his BFA in Creative Writing for Entertainment, as well as his Masters in Public Relations, both from Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida.
Born and raised in West Dayton, Ohio, Wayne was never your average “little black kid.” A square peg from day one, Wayne found little interest in the things his classmates loved, and focused on reading and writing stories to entertain himself. |
After reading a “book” written by one of his classmates in the 8th grade, Wayne knew immediately that he wanted to write. He wrote his first book, Frisky Business, in the 10thgrade, which was an immediate hit at John H. Patterson High School.
His first novel, Urban Contemporary, was published in 2000 by iUniverse.com. The story of an unhappy disc jockey living in Washington D.C., the book gained word-of-mouth fame and decent local reviews. "If I'd had PR representation, things could have been completely different. The right people could've seen my talent back then," Franklin says. |
